New Parks- Sequoia and Kings Canyon

These were two awesome parks to visit-  Coop really liked climbing the rocks-  Great scary scenery no guard rails!

Revisit after about 55 years to Yosemite- East and West side...

I can't exactly remember the last time the family was at Yosemite, I want to say in the 50's- perhaps in the 60's- but anyway, Cooper and I made it!  We first went into the West Side on Tioga Pass Road off 395, then swung around to the "regular side"  for a most of the day visit.

Coop really liked the Bridal Veil Falls area, and we got stamps from 5 different stamping locations...

2 New Locations, 2 old ones for the Essex NHA in Massachusetts

To keep my perfect record for all the stops on this NHA, went to the three new locations added since last year, Marblehead and Rockport, and revisited the Maria Miles location and Newburyport as well.  Pretty seaside towns...

Maria Miles location, just over the state line

Marblehead VC- almost drove right past it!

Newburyport VC

Rockport VC

Only 1 DC location this trip- Ford's Theater

We had originally planned to do 2 other sites in DC, but couldn't find parking, so we only managed to get to one place Cooper really wanted to go to, Ford's Theater.  I hadn't been on the full tour, and it was really excellent- Good docent- knew her stuff.

There was also a stamp at Ford's Theater for the African American Civil War Memorial-

3 Locations for the Underground Railroad-

Revisits to 3 locations for the Underground Railroad on this trip-

The locations were Independence NHP in Philadelphia, Hampton NHS in Maryland, and the President Street Station in downtown Baltimore.

Revisit to the Statue of Liberty

Cooper and I left for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from Liberty Park in New Jersey, which is still pretty badly beaten up from Hurricane Sandy and still undergoing renovations...

Multiple stops for the Shenendoah Battlefield National Historic District in Virginia

This was another new area for me to visit, and I managed to get 7 stops in:

There are about 30 stops for this District, so I have a lot more to get.

On this trip, I stopped basically in Staunton, Winchester, and Harrisburg Virginia-

The H.R. Smith Museum, The Woodrow Wilson Library, The Winchester/Fredericksburg VC, The Va. Museum of the Civil War, The Crossroads Heritage Center, the Hardesty-Higgins House, and the Old Court House Museum of the Civil War.  Missed several other planned stops-
