Multiple National Trails Stop Revisit Fort Osage NHL Sibley, Mo.
I had been here before, think it was in the 2009 visit, but never got any stamps, so I rectified that today. Got all the stamps that were there, missing one that had been retired, but got one that was in a drawer. Pretty site, right on the Missouri River, where Lewis and Clark hung out.
Site Visit- Pony Express Nat'l Historic Trail- Pony Express Museum Saint Joseph, Mo.
Left the coach at 0800 and headed about 75 miles up the Interstate to Saint Joseph Missouri, home of the Pony Express. Missed this the last time I was through the area, so I'm glad I made it. Nice museum, interesting exhibits, got all three stamps that were available, and a nice little pin of the museum.

Santa Fe Trail Stop- Shawnee Mission State Historic Site Olathe Kansas
Swung by here on my Metro Kansas City tour- GPS took me to the end of the block, and I had to negotiate three different buildings before I found the right one to get to. Got my one site stamp here- plus a nice State pin.
Santa Fe Trail Stop Mahaffee Stagecoach Stop and Farm Olathe Kansas
Revisit to Harry S Truman NHS Independence Missouri
Did a revisit to the downtown Visitor Center so I could refresh my stamps from this site- there were several adjustments- Got a total of 6 stamps. The sequestration has had an effect on this park, the Farm VC is closed, and the Truman House was not open, I believe.
Multiple National Trail Stops- National Frontier Trails Museum Independence, Missouri Friday, June 28 2013
I had originally thought I would go here Sunday, but realized when I left the coach this morning that it was only 8 miles away, so off I went.
Was here back in 2011 visit, and today I found a total of 7 stamps, some new issues of site specific Trail stamps, and one that was supposed to not be at this location!!!

Santa Fe Trail site Visit- Lanesfield School State Historic Site Edgerton Kansas
Site Visit, Lanesfield School State Historic Site - Friday June 28, 2013
This is a site on the Santa Fe Trail, and as the name indicates, it is more about the School and its history, but inside the visitor center, there is much information about how the Santa Fe Trail impacted the school and its environs.
I was met at the Visitor's Center by a very astute summer intern, who was a History major in graduate school, and dressed in period costume. We talked about the nature of one room schools, and the impact of the Trail on its environs and history.
I was able to get all four of the stamps that were listed for this site.

The school literally is in the middle of a Kansas Wheat Field, located after traversing several dirt roads for about 3 or 4 miles!
Fun visit to an out of the way place.
