Park 169 Gila Cliff Dwellings Silver City New Mexico

We were encamped at Lordsburg, New Mexico, and Bette encouraged me to go ahead and get this one off this list, since it is "out of the way."  That is an understatement, you really, really have to want to get to this park, from Lordsburg, at least.
The road to Silver City isn't so bad, its the 44 miles of twisty turney barely two lane, not lane marked, no guard rail, switchback, ugly road you take to get there.

There are lots of pretty vistas as you get there, and there were patches of snow evident.
Took me almost 2 and a half hours up there and back.
Got two stamps, which is what the Master List called for- also got a nice pin and  a hiking staff medallion.

Because of the time constraints and the fact that it was a mile walk to and from the ruins, I didn't actually visit them, but I did do the museum.

Next time I have some time, I'll go back and do this one "proper", and allow a full day for it.
